Bobby Cannavale will play the titular Cupid in the remake of the Rob Thomas’ 1998 series. Cannavale’s Cupid, aka Trevor Hale, is a recently released mental patient who may or may not actually be the mythic figure. Entourage’s Jeremy Piven originated the role ten years ago, before the show was cancelled in its first season. Thomas, who also created series Veronica Mars, will script the pilot episode for ABC.
